ΕΛΛΗΝΙΚA ΚΥΚΛΑΔΕΣ ΜHΛΟΣ - Greek Island Melos
Milos or Melos [Μήλος] is a volcanic Greek island in the Aegean Sea, just north of the Sea of Crete. Milos is the southwesternmost island in the Cyclades group.
These Melos coins obverse type is an Apple, which in Greek is Melon [also the origin of the word Melon in English].
The classical Greek word ΜΈΛΟΝ [melon], or dialectal ΜΆΛΟΝ [malon], now a loanword in English as Melon, meant tree fruit in general, but was borrowed into Latin as meaning Apple.
