Selymbria [Σηλυμβρία] or Selybria [Σηλυβρία] or Selybrie [Σηλυβρίη], was a town of ancient Thrace. Its site is located modern-day Silivri in Turkey.
According to Strabo, Silymbria was named after Silios, while Herodikos, an ancient Greek physician and teacher of Hippocrates, also was born in the city of Selymbria.
Byzantine emperor Arcadius changed the name of the ancient city to Eudoxioupolis [ΕΎΔΟΞΙΟΎΠΟΛΙΣ] in honor of his wife Eudoxia.
